Installation Completion/QC Appointment FAQs
City and County Inspection Process
Our Electricians will report back to Operations to confirm if the installation has been successfully completed and is ready to submit for C&C inspections. Your solar permit is assigned to two types of inspectors to check your system meets Code requirements: Building and Electrical. After submitting your inspection requests, the inspectors will conduct their inspections according to their own schedule.
If the Inspectors need access to exterior parts of the home where the electrical equipment is located, they will contact us and let you know when they anticipate being out. We maintain a weekly follow-up with both inspectors; however, the permit closure timeframe will vary. We estimate permit closure within 4-6 weeks* from the electrical installation appointment.
If there are any punch list items that the Inspector requests we make, our Operations will be notified, and our Scheduling Team will contact you to determine a date for the Work Order to be scheduled.
Quality Control and Commissioning Appointment
Our Technician Scheduler will contact you to schedule a Quality Control & Commissioning (QC) appointment with our technician to commission your system, install all monitoring equipment, and gather information required by HECO’s Validation close-out process (Validation Packet). The technician will need access to the electrical equipment and the batteries, if applicable, during this appointment. We ask that you kindly leave access to this area accessible if possible.
After your QC appointment is complete, you should not need to take any action. Your Electrical Inspection will need to be closed out before we can submit your Validation Packet to HECO.
